The first single from Superet seems a staple for any back-to-basics rock ’n’ roll diet — guitars abuzz, “Pay It Later” gallops along with glammy, danceable swagger. It’s the first official release from the L.A. band that’s only been together a little over a year and has been touring in support of Dreamcar. The work of singer-guitarist Matt Blitzer along with keyboardist Alex Fischel, bassist Patrick Kelly, multi-instrumentalist Isaac Tamburino and drummer Sam KS, Superet derive their name from the facade of an old L.A. church inscribed with the word, which, translated from Latin, means “may it overflow.” The members count bands such as Harriet, Maxim Ludwig, Junk, PAPA and Spoon/Divine Fits on their resumés, so they’ve been down the rocking road before. The single reveals they’ve lost none of their moxie.
