► Day 2 of the Playboy Jazz Festival goes off at the Hollywood Bowl with with Gregory Porter, Common, Lalah Hathaway, the Kenny Garrett Quintet, Miles Mosley & the West Coast Get Down, Carl Allen & the Art of Elvin, the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, Cory Henry & the Funk Apostles and Hamilton De Holanda Trio.
► The second day of the LA Pride Festival features Brandy, along with Erika Jayne, Starley, Spencer Ludwig, Ninel Conde and more, at West Hollywood Park.
► Roots-rocker Rod Melancon celebrates the release of his new album “Southern Gothic” with a date at Grand Ole Echo at the Echo. The show runs from 3-8 p.m. and also Casper Allen and Rick Shelly.
► Reunited Midwesterners the Anniversary visit the Troubadour, supported by Dude York and Fullbloods.
► Philadelphia rockers Low Cut Connie storm into Resident in support of their new album “Dirty Pictures (Part 1),” with Tone in Georgia supporting.
