Desert Daze has just announced the first group of acts for their fall festival, returning once again to the 420-acre grounds of the Institute of Metalphysics in Joshua Tree.

Shoegaze stalwarts Spiritualized, desert locals Eagles of Death Metal, the Aussie/Philly pairing of Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile, Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions, Kiwis (by way of Portland) Unknown Mortal Orchestra and L.A.’s psych-pop quartet, the Allah-Las are among an impressive initial lineup of acts appearing Oct. 12-15.

Brought to you by folks at Moon Block Party (along with Spaceland Presents and Knitting Factory Entertainment), Desert Daze will occur across three outdoor stages along with two indoor venues for alternate programming. There will be film screenings and speakers at Noble Hall, art installations at the institute’s Sanctuary Hall, along with the Desert Daze Marketplace, surrounded by outdoor art parks, bars, food trucks and an indoor diner. The Mystic Bazaar will host healing meditations, classes and seminars.

More bands are expected to be added to the lineup.
