We wrestled, we wrangled, we thought and overthought, and then for the most part we settled for what our Minister of Playlists had concocted — a 40-song playlist representative of the great big world that this this year’s FYF Fest.

The three-day blowout July 21-23 at Exposition Park features Missy Elliott and Bjork (on Friday), Frank Ocean, A Tribe Called Quest and Erykah Badu (on Saturday) and Nine Inch Nails, Iggy Pop and Run the Jewels (on Sunday), along with an undercard of artists that will necessitate early arrival.

Before our FYF Fest x Buzz Bands LA playlist, though, some news:

► A limited number of additional single-day tickets will go on sale at noon Friday. (Weekend GA and VIP passes remain available.)

Flying Lotus will be debuting his new 3D show at FYF. Apparently these will come with your tickets.

Mac DeMarco has been added to the lineup.

► As reported last week, Built to Spill has been added to the lineup and on Saturday will be performing their album “Keep It Like a Secret” in its entirety. (Longer attention spans will love the Sunday set from Blonde Redhead, playing their album “Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons.”
