French pop juggernaut Phoenix rose at the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday night, thrilling the packed venue with songs from their new album “Ti Amo,” their sixth and first in four years, as well as tunes that dated back to their 2000 debut. The band satisfied by playing their biggest hits — “merci,” to echo Thomas Mars — and played five songs (“J-Boy,” “Fior di Latte,” “Lovelife,” “Role Model” and the title track, reprised at the finish) from the new album, with Mars wading into the crowd a couple of times.

Mac DeMarco preceded the headliners, playing a set that included a cover of “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton. And brotherly ’70s revivalists the Lemon Twigs opened the night with a typically high-flying, energetic set.
