The Sound In Focus series at Annenberg Space For Photography continued on Saturday night with Paul Oakenfold, Mondo Cozmo, and Lo Moon. Jason Bentley introduced the legendary DJ saying, “It is hard to believe that electronic music has been around for 30 years, but Paul Oakenfold has been creating electronic music for that long.” Fans crowded the front row excited to see the Grammy-winner, who remixed U2, Madonna, Bruno Mars and many more for the dancing audience. The event was family-friendly, but that didn’t stop Mondo Cozmo’s Josh Ostrander from letting loose a few cuss words as he amped up the crowd. He was full of jokes, “I invited Rod Stewart to play on the stage with us” and after a pause added, “but he’s busy.” Then they covered Stewart’s “Ooh La La” before ending their set with “Automatic” and “Shine.” The crowd sang along to the latter’s chorus, “Let ’em get high, let ’em get stoned, everything will be all right if you let go.” Openers Lo Moon hit the stage with an energetic indie-rock set, including “Loveless,” which Bentley has been spinning on KCRW.
