► Sean Watkins & Friends salute Paul Simon as the free Sunset Concerts series kicks off at the Skirball Cultural Center. Guests include Cary Brothers, Gaby Moreno, Joey Ryan and the Bee Eaters, and the museum’s current exhibition “Paul Simon: Words & Music” is open until 10 p.m.
► Miami Horror heads up the party at the Twilight Concerts at the Santa Monica Pier, where Cleopold kicks off the night.
► Thee Commons celebrate the release of their new album “Paleta Sonora” with a performance at the free concert series at the Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park.
► Korey Dane celebrates the release of his new album “Chamber Girls” with a show at the Echo, supported by Peter Matthew Bauer.
