SWIMM have decided to name their debut album “Sentimental Porno,” which not only figures to get flagged in many future emails but finally answers the question, “Can there be such a thing as sentimental porn?” As in their 2016 single “Man’s Man,” the L.A.-via-Florida duo of Chris Hess and Adam Winn, creators of two fine EPs, play out their obsession with the quest for intimacy, the L.A. life and assorted neuroses on their new single “Speak Politely.” Over a mire of stuttering beats, wheezing synth and echoing guitar, Hess lays it all out, sounding more than a little bit needy. If not for the real deal, at least clarity. “Sometimes being a dude in love just feels like you’re really close to the source of it all but it turns out you’re just constantly fumbling the ball all over the place,” he tells Consequence of Sound, where the song premiered. “So once you regain some composure, the least you can do is be polite.” Now that’s something to be sentimental about.

No release date has been announced yet for the album.
