Video games, fishy food, busy streets, cats, slot machines, did we mention video games? … These are the many wonders of Tokyo that Thundercat, aka Stephen Bruner, visits in the video for his song dedicated to the capital of Japan, directed by Jun Hanamoto-Hearn and shot on location earlier this year while on tour. He relishes the city like a kid in a candy store. It’s effective. Let’s go there. “Tokyo” comes from his latest album, “Drunk,” a 23-track odyssey out now on Brainfeeder that features appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Wiz Khalifa, Kamasi Washington and Brainfeeder leader Flying Lotus.
