HAWAI and the Federal Empire capped the second Chinatown Summer Nights of 2017 on Saturday night with buoyant sets on the busy Live Music Stage at Mandarin Plaza.

Isle & Fever preceded them with a bouncy set of dance-pop that followed the first live performance in more than six years by Wait. Think. Fast., who prevailed over some sound problems that temporarily delayed the set. Chris Price and his quartet unleashed a winning set of songs of his album “Stop Talking” (plus a new tune);  Lucy & La Mer mixed some tap-dancing into their set of smart indie-pop; and MetronOhm kicks off the night with their soulful, genre-twisting, mandolin- and violin-spiked tunes.

The next Chinatown Summer Nights is Sept. 2; stay tuned for the Live Music Stage lineup announcement this week.
