The latest track from Frankie and the Witch Fingers, “Learnings Of The Light” opens in medias res, suggesting that we just walked into a party that’s already well under way. People’s shoes are off, someone is finishing a harmonica solo, the chandelier is decorated with bras, and yet it’s easy to dive right into the deep-end and splash around in the energetic, soulfully psychedelic preachings of C. Dylan Sizemore, Glenn Brigman, Alex Bulli and Josh Menashe. The band originally moved from Bloomington, Ind., to Los Angeles a few years ago “to fulfill the telepathic prophecies of Frankie, a sleek black cat rumored to be the latest incarnation of Syd Barrett’s own feline companion, Lucifer Sam.” In a continued effort to complete this mission, their third album arrives on Sept. 15. It’s called “Brain Telephone” and enthusiastically follows 2013’s “Sidewalk” and 2015’s eponymous album on Permanent Records.
