Dan Croll, the 27-year-old Englander who makes songs you can’t get out of your head, clearly was in everybody’s noggin on Saturday night at the Teragram Ballroom, where a big crowd knew all the words to most of his songs. Touring in support of his new album “Emerging Adulthood,” Croll earned some of the same kind of screaming another legendary band from Liverpool once enjoyed. Far from the “Bad Boy” (the single he played late in the set), he responded with happy waves. “The is our biggest L.A. show, so let’s have a fun Saturday,” he said. He also expressed appreciation to fans for their support of “Emerging Adulthood,” adding “Thanks for buying the album, streaming the album or even illegally downloading it, that’s OK too.”

Opening the night, New York quartet the Dig set a buoyant tone, interrupted only when singer Emile Mosseri poignantly dedicated a song to the late Charles Bradley, who died early Saturday. “He was one of the best,” Croll said. “I hope he is dancing up in heaven.” Later, they dedicated a number “to all the brunette women and blonde, wavy-haired men, because there are a lot of them in L.A.”

Setlist: Away From Today, One of Us, Can You Hear Me, 24, Wanna Know, January, Only Ghost, Thinkin Aboutchu, Eminem, Be Alone, Bad Boy, Educate, Swim, From Nowhere, Tokyo. Encore: Home.
