► Once more, with feeling: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers wind up their 40th anniversary tour at the Hollywood Bowl, with Lucinda Williams opening.
► With “Paid in Full” celebrating its 30th birthday, rapper Rakim holds forth at the Regent Thater, joined by Mic Crenshaw.
► Norwegian pop singer Astrid S headlines the El Rey Theatre, supported by Jasmine Thompson.
Grouplove plays an intimate (and sold-out) show at the new Moroccan Lounge, with Grace Mitchell opening.
► And September’s big Monday night residencies come to a slow: Moons of Mars at the Bootleg Theater (with Avant Rivers and Yacht Punk); Jesse Jo Stark at the Echo (with Night Talks, Whispertown and Leeroy from the North); the Entire Universe at Zebulon (with C.G.
