Video premiere: Thanks, ‘Annabelle’

thanks.
thanks.

Steve Pagano and Mario Borgatta make music under the name Thanks — which they render as “thanks.” — bending psychedelic pop through the prism of two guys who must’ve aced their class in Beatles at Berklee College of Music. The duo, who’ve had success placing numerous songs in TV shows and have worked as engineers for major-label artists, are prepping their debut album “Colfax,” named for the location of the studio in which they toil. Drawing its inspiration from the Fab Four’s “Across the Universe,” “Annabelle” is a hallucinogenic slice of sonic wanderlust that draws you in like a slow walk through a fragrant garden. Spencer Sharp’s video for the song, though, is another story — a macabre tale told in reverse. Who’s the perp? You have to watch to the end, er, beginning.
