Thursday: Composer Gueorgui Linev’s new album as Kan Wakan — the sweeping triple-LP “Phantasmagoria” — is out this month. (Listen to some of it here, really.) To celebrate the release, Kan Wakan plays the cozy new downtown venue, the Moroccan Lounge. Tickets.
Friday: We make it a habit to never miss the Afghan Whigs … barring emergencies, of course. Greg Dulli and crew visit the Fonda Theatre in support of their latest album “In Spades” and, even better, Har Mar Superstar opens. Tickets.
Friday-Sunday: Now would be a good time to make that last-minute, what-the-heck-let’s-do-it decision to hit Desert Daze in Joshua Tree. Iggy Pop might be worth the trip alone, but you don’t have to gaze at the flyer long to come up with about 15 other reasons. Over the weekend, the festival issued a low ticket warning.
