It’s been three years since Mansions on the Moon released their-titled album, and this week the L.A.-via-Virginia electro-pop outfit return with a new single “Spirits.” Also available via a free download, the single finds the band — Ted Wendler, Lane Shaw and Jeffrey Maccora (with Louis Cato and Jordan Orvosh on this track) — sailing through blue skies in search of the perfect cruising altitude. Here, it seems to be a place where gently snapping percussion and atmospheric production don’t mess with your mellow. No nightmares in MOTM’s dream-pop, just comfy lack of gravitational pull.
