Halloween spirit was alive and covered in face paint at The Growlers Six, formerly known as Beach Goth Fest, now at its new home on the LA Waterfront in San Pedro. The move to the Port of Los Angeles allowed for plenty of breathing room and an immersive experience, including three stages, “Beach Rat Island,” where DJs entertained, “Death Of A Clown,” a carnival tent for sideshow acts and drunk dancing, carnival games and rides, and even a motorcycle cage where Rhett Rotten rode 3 different motorcycles in a circle, delighting onlookers. Attendees in need of sustenance could enjoy $13 Modelo beers and turkey legs wrapped with bacon for a mere $23. The music was great, with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Juvenile, Tinariwen, and of course The Growlers highlighting day one.
