Saint Motel turned their concert at the Glass House into “Late Night with Saint Motel,” a television-themed production, complete with “SMTV” cameras, an applause sign and large projections above the stage. Before the band played, the screen scrolled through a montage of vintage television commercials, including Grey Poupon and Bubble Tape, video personals and an antiquated introduction to the Internet. At one point, singer A/J Jackson made his way up to the balcony to get up close and personal with fans, then came back downstairs to sing on top of the bar. The audience matched his jubilant energy with total appreciation, singing along to their favorite tunes, especially “My Type.”
