Blade of Grass’s quirky, arresting space-rock was born in the L.A. neighborhood of El Sereno, and three EPs into their electronic explorations, they’re carving out new ways of combining riff, beeps and vocals into spasmodic, catchy songs. Following up their 2016 release “Eyes Like Diamonds,” the foreboding new single “Looks So Good” hits like a sonic strobe light. And for director Chip Godwin’s video, the trio — Josh Murphy, Mike Hurst and Amos Przkaza — traveled to the Central Coast’s Oceano Dunes for a weekend of hard climbing, fast sliding and, as it turned out, broken toes. While the song “is about a girl who haunts you every time you close your eyes,” the video follows another storyline: The band, “on a mission to rescue an endangered object from a hostile planet.” The trio’s latest single will be out soon.
