► The third annual One Love Cali Reggae Fest gets under way at the Queen Mary, with Rebelution, Atmosphere, Iration, J-Boog, Pepper, Matisyahu and more.
► Miranda Lambert headlines the Forum, joined by Jon Pardi and Lucie Silvas.
► Oakland-born soul singer Goapele plays the Theatre at Ace Hotel in support of her album “Dreamseeker.”
► Mako headlines the Regent Theater, joined by Night Lights.
► Fitness (AWOLNATION’s Kenny Carkeet and Eve 6 frontman Max Collins) celebrate the release of a new single at the Bootleg Theater , Lost Beach and M. Rivers at the Bootleg Theater
► Goldensuns play a free show at the Hi Hat, joined by Sun Sic and Cheekface.
► A charity event, the L.A. Rock Lottery promises an interesting evening at the Echo. The lottery sees 25 musicians meet at 10 a.m., and, via chance selection, form five groups. The groups then go off to practice spaces, with 11 hours to create a band name and three to five songs (one cover song is allowed). They perform the songs that night. Show time is 9 p.m. Here are the musicians participating.
