EELS

Here is the video you need today. Or at least, the one we needed today. And perhaps every day. It stars a man with flowers in his hand, a smile on his face and spring in his step. The man is Mike Mitchell (of Netflix’s “LOVE”), whom director Gus Black follows en route to his delivering those flowers, backed by the sprightly, scratchy new happy pill from EELS, “Today Is the Day.” What a great three minutes, right? And not to get all Pollyanna about it, but we needed this video today. We might watch it every day until April 6, when Mark Oliver Everett releases the 12th EELS album, “The Deconstruction.” And a few times after that.
