Jesika von Rabbit was at the front for five albums of subversive, weirdo desert disco as the frontwoman of Joshua Tree’s Gram Rabbit, and most of the band’s rabbit-eared followers have hopped along since she went solo in 2015 with the album “Journey Mitchell.” She returns with more sharp-tongued lyricism in “Innuendo,” a new dance track that (stop the presses) strikes a positive chord rather than mete out the sassy satire that has characterized her work.

“Let’s love again, baby,” she exhorts, leaving the smart-ass bits for Mr. Tamale’s video for the single. “No presidents were harmed during this production,” von Rabbit assures — although many are lampooned. In a four-minute whirlwind, there’s a presidential card game, some wholly inappropriate canoodling, an epic pillow fight and a wholly inappropriate dance party. While one could argue that all this could pass for diplomacy in the current administration, we will merely report that “Innuendo” is the first single from von Rabbit’s second solo album, produced by longtime collaborator Ethan Allen and due later this year.
