Numb.er

Numb.er is a dark wave/synthpunk project formed by Jeff Fribourg after leaving his previous band, Froth, which he co-founded with Joo-Joo Ashworth. In Froth, Fribourg played a feverish omnichord, but with Numb.er, Fribourg embraces his love for analog synths and angular guitar lines, creating songs that blend punk, shoegaze and post-punk in varying degrees from track to track. The band’s debut album, “Goodbye,” is set for release on May 25 via Felte Records. It was recorded by Dante White Aliano (of Fake News & Dante VS Zombies), at his Echo Park studio, The Cone, then mixed and mastered by Mikey Young. From Fribourg’s snotty vocals, to choppy drums and ever-present hum of amp noise, first single, “Again,” drives with primitive punk attitude, sustaining tension like it’s about to snap at any moment.
