The last few years, Angela Correa’s main gig has been motherhood, but the experience has started trickling into new Correatown music. “Oh Wonder” is just that, a feel-good song about the shift in identity that comes with parenthood, “the idea that you’re just in it, living your life, having these moments and if you stop and ponder it, you can be struck by wonder and gratitude for it all,” Correa says. It came to her one sunrise when she was “surprised by the beauty of an early pre-dawn skyline after waking with a young toddler.” She and her friend, producer Danny Burke, got together and wrote this song about acknowledging and appreciating what they’ve got going on in life. They supplemented it with claps, bells, acoustic guitar, piano and a happy backing chorus to make it feel like you’re eating a bowl of sunshine.

A new album is in the works to follow up 2015’s “Embrace the Fuzzy Unknown.” This new batch of songs, she says, “unpacks and examines identity, inspiration, motherhood, and transformation.”
