It’s been more than two years since Utah-bred, L.A.-based the Moth & the Flame released their debut album “Young & Unafraid,” and now the trio of Brandon Robbins, Mark Garbett and Andrew Tolman have returned in a big way, powering up their overdriven synths and guitars for “Beautiful Couch.” TMTF’s stadium-sized alt-rock is grounded in the blustery (in a good way) vocals of Robbins, who is on maximum heartache in the new single, which recounts sleepless nights and witnessing someone he obviously cares about very much getting married to somebody else. No official word of a new album yet, though the band mentions on social media that there is one. The single is produced by Peter Katis (the National, Stars, Augustines, among others).
