Video premiere: LMNOP, ‘First Time’

LMNOP is the nom de tune of songwriter-producer Zach Schwartz, whose smooth, ’80s-styled electronic pop goes down as easily as that first drink at a Friday night party. After releasing two EPs in 2016, he has continued the momentum with five singles since, morsels of pop candy that work like a rush of blood to the head.
The frisky disco track “First Time,” which features Joseph Luca (vocals, bass) and Gaspard Murphy (guitar, vocoder), salutes one of those head-spinning moments: that time you lost your virginity, and the memories of who, where and what song was on the stereo.
Directed by Basil Mironer and LMNOP and co-starring the songwriter along with Katherine Akmajki, Althea Schwartz, Joe Scolari and Joe Annabi, the endearing video for “First Time” recreates one of those moments. It happens at a house party, and it’s one of those boy-meets-girl stories … except after one kiss, our hero is transformed into a puppet (the creation of Nate Hernandez). How does our diminutive friend make out?
