Guided by Voices to do 100-song New Year’s Eve show in L.A.

Now this is how you say goodbye to one decade and ring in another.

Guided by Voices will perform a 100-song set on New Year’s Eve at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles.

Wisecracks the irrepressible Robert Pollard: “Yes, my doctor dreamt that we played 100 songs for $100 and he even wrote it as a prescription for me on his prescription pad. Doctor’s orders …”

GbV is, of course, known for its encyclopedic live sets.

The announcement comes on the heels of other head-spinning news from the 61-year-old Pollard and gang: GbV will release a new album, “Warp and Woof,” on April 26. The 24-song, 37-minute effort will be the band’s 27th full-length — and their second in a little more than two months, having released the double-album “Zeppelin Over China” in February.
