L.A. concerts for Saturday:

► The first Smokin’ Grooves Fest brings Usher, Erykah Badu, Ella Mai, Daniel Caesar, Kali Uchis, Common, Pink Sweat$ and more to the Queen Mary Events Park. (Set times at the end of this post.)
► It’s officially opening night of the 2019 season at the Hollywood Bowl, and John Legend and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra are there to make it sound great.
► The Cult headline the Greek Theatre, joined by Prayers, Zola Jesus and VOWWS.
► Betty Who does the first of two nights at the Fonda Theatre in support of her new album “Betty,” with Loote opening.
► Allah Las and Connan Mockasin & Andrew Vanwyndgarden (of MGMT) perform a live score to the surf film “Self Discovery for Social Survival” at downtown’s Palace Theatre.
► Girlpool play a free show at One Colorado in Pasadena as part of KCRW Summer Nights, with KCRW’s Chris Douridas DJing.
► Shannon Lay [see “Nowhere”] plays a solo show at the Love Song, along with Half Gringa.
► The Black Watch [see “Get Me Out of Echo Park”] play Echo Park’s Little Joy in celebration of next week’s release of their 17th full-length, “Magic Johnson.” The World Record opens.
► And “power disco” duo Cobra Man [see “Weekend Special”]  do their first full band performance at a free show at the Bootleg Theater.
