Eat this up: L.A. shock-rockers Starcrawler have announced that their sophomore album “Devour You” will be out Oct. 11.

The quartet — vocalist Arrow de Wilde, guitarist-vocalist Henri Cash, bassist Tim Franco and drummer Austin Smith — today released the Jellyclaw-directed video for the new single “Bet My Brains,” and you can bet your brains, or the house, or your behind, that’s it’s signature Starcrawler. Over a thunderstorm of drums and guitar riffs out of a toolshed full of sharp objects, de Wilde acts out as seemingly only she can. The video is set at a backyard party, and it’s clear that what happens there, stays there.

The album was produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, L7) at Sunset Studios. Of “Bet My Brains,” the frontwoman says: “That song came from thinking about the tunnel people in New York and Vegas and the Catacombs in France, and the underground village of people who live in the sewers of the L.A. River. I was fascinated with the fact that there is a whole other world happening right under our feet.” Adds Cash: “Arrow and I hadn’t even talked about it yet, but I’d already written something about the same thing — about how these people’s eyes adapt to pitch-blackness, and they end up going crazy from never seeing the sunlight.”
