Premiere: Their Wedding, ‘Naked’

Their Wedding

“Our two hearts will never sleep alone,” Michael Escañuelas and Celese Hernandez sing on Their Wedding’s new song “Naked,” a squishy pillow-talker best enjoyed with the lights down low. The Inland Empire-bred quartet of singer-pianist Escañuelas, singer-percussionist Celese Hernandez, guitarist Al Hernandez and drummer Ryan Ohanessian has been refining such romanticism for two-plus years now, fashioning a sound that marries the boudoir R&B of the ’90s with today’s gauzy indie-pop production. They started an EP trilogy in late 2013 with “Take,” following it with “Wine” last July. They go completely “Naked” on July 28 when the third of the EPs is released via True Grit Records. Somewhere around here, we have some scented candles …
