Seagoat, the long-distance collaboration between singer-songwriter Colby Miller and producer Neal Harris, debuted last summer with the twinkling electro stunner “Comfort Girl,” part of a campaign to fund their first album. That campaign having been successful, the duo will release the self-titled “Seagoat” on Feb. 3. It’s 37 minutes of electronic finery, fastidiously arranged and featuring mood-shifting synths that range from leaden to featherweight. The new single “Pioneer” is accented by the former, backgrounding Miller’s breathy declaration that “no one understands / that I’ve got bigger plans.”
