Video: Dead Sara, ‘Mona Lisa’

1

Dead Sara’s ferocious, inventive take on blues-rock coalesced on the band’s 2012 self-titled album, but it’s taken a minute for the quartet to come up with a second helping. After a series of small club shows last year whetted appetites, Dead Sara is finishing up work on a sophomore album, the fan-funded “Pleasure to Meet You,” planned for a March release. As the new, Matt Odom-directed video for the song “Mona Lisa” suggests, the quartet — singer-guitarist Emily Armstrong, lead guitarist Siouxsie Medley, bassist Chris Null and drummer Sean Friday — has lost none of the wallop they delivered in singles such as “Weatherman” and “Lemon Scent.” They’ve also teased the new album with the vein-popping single “Suicidal” (no stream available, but buyers get it as an immediate-gratification download with a pre-order of “Pleasure”). Heads, prepare to bang.
