The Puppy Bowl on Sunday was great, but singer-songwriter Cary Brothers’ video for his new song “Lovin’ On You” has serious game. Directed by Lakshmi Sundaram and filmed by Stephen Tringali, it stars a St. Bernard puppy named Leo and follows a familiar storyline: You might lose the girl, but a dog’s love is unconditional. In all, 22 puppies dogpile the singer-songwriter in his apartment at the end — ironic, perhaps, because Brothers lives in a place that doesn’t allow pets, he told Buzzfeed. The song is the first new music since 2013 from Brothers, best known for his song “Blue Eyes” from the “Garden State” soundtrack way back when, and who has dabbled in the fun electro side project SD3 recently. It’s the title track of a new EP he released this week.
