Video: Froth, ‘Postcard Radio’

1

The 2013 debut from Froth put the L.A. quartet on the map as one of the top local bands with whom you’d like to share a Kool-Aid, assuming it wasn’t straight-out-the-package stuff. “Patterns” was a not-quite-lo-fi slab of psychedelia that at its best had a woozy, slacker charm. The new song “Postcard Radio” sizzles with more urgency, and the video made by Riley Blakeway is perfect for it. Froth — singer-guitarist JooJoo Ashworth, guitarist Cole Devine, bassist Jeremy Katz and drummer Cameron Allen — is readying the follow-up to “Patterns.” No release has been annoucned yet, but “Bleak,” out May 5 via Burger Records, will also feature the rager “Saccharine Sunshine,” which they made with Joel Jerome and released as a 7-inch last fall.
