[Hey, where’d my weekend go?]

‣ Holy smokes, Jane’s Addiction has another intimate gig scheduled, on Thursday. Might as well invite the fire marshals over to El Cid early for some chips and salsa. [That’s the scene at downtown’s La Cita during the band’s 150-or-so-capacity show that had its problems last month.]
‣ Local Cambodian psych-pop act Dengue Fever gets some love … in New Zealand.
‣ LA Weekly visits Scott Weiland for a chat about his forthcoming album.
‣ The Deadly Syndrome has been holed up working on their sophomore album — meanwhile, Pitchfork has the cool new video for their song “Emily Paints.” I’m curious, was the “Ortolan” album track re-recorded or remixed for the video, or are my ears playing tricks on me? ***
‣ Can’t think of two more appropriate bands to play the second L.A. installment of Kidrockers than the Parson Red Heads and the Henry Clay People. The matinee show for kids/parents is 1 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Echo. LAist covered the first monthly show here.
‣ And I don’t know about the Flaiming Lips, I’ve never known about the Flaming Lips and I never will know about the Flaming Lips. But this is 10 minutes of my life I will never get back.
