Brooklyn-via-Columbia, Mo., sextet White Rabbits’ sophomore album, “It’s Frightening” (streaming on MySpace), comes out Tuesday on TBD Records (the U.S. home to Radiohead). One thing for certain: The album is the sonic kin of its producer, Britt Daniel of Spoon, with its racehorse piano lines and caffeinated drumming. If you liked the frenetic stuff on their 2007 debut, “Fort Nightly,” you’ll love the follow-up. White Rabbits hit the Troubadour on June 18.

Cheers to Cage the Elephant for conquering SXSW, Coachella and the KROQ Weenie Roast, all in the space of less than two months. I’m not sure whether their self-titled debut album in a long player or whether it will turn brown with the autumn leaves, but the Bowling Green, Ky., quintet are a band worthy of all the festival dates (Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, All Points West) they have coming up.
