Today: U.K. electro-pop quartet Metronomy [pictured], with a new EP “Not Made for Love” [download below] just out, dives into a West Coast tour, playing the Roxy tonight with local heroes Fool’s Gold. … Sold-out shows: Steve Earle and Tom Morello (as the Nightwatchman) at the Troubadour; Travis’ Fran Healy and Andy Dunlop at Largo; and Thursday at the Knitting Factory. … Motorhead (with Reverend Horton Heat and others) rocks downtown’s Club Nokia. … Joe Doe and Exene [nice story in the Times earlier this week] reunite for an acoustic show at the Echoplex. … Also: O’Death and Slang Chickens at Spaceland; Dark Star Orchestra at the Fonda; Janu and the Whalesharks at the Bootleg; Brian Wright and Andy Clockwise at the Hotel Cafe; Ledisi at the El Rey Theatre; the Gears at the Redwood; Murs at the House of Blues Anaheim; and Manhattan Murder Mystery at Echo Curio.

Saturday: Polvo comes back around for a show at Spaceland. … Steve Earle and Tom Morello have another sold-out night at the Troubadour, as do Healy and Dunlop at Largo. … The reunited Sunny Day Real Estate, with reunited L.A. rockers the Jealous Sound, hit the House of Blues Anaheim. … DD/MM/YYYY opens for These Arms Are Snakes at the Knitting Factory. … In the great big wide-open spaces, you have Jason Mraz, G Love and Special Sauce and Brett Dennen at the Hollywood Bowl, and Foreigner, the B-52’s, Joan Jett, George Clinton and othrs at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. … And at the Hotel Cafe, it’s Dawn McCoy’s album-release party. … Also: Michael Franti & Spearhead at the Wiltern; Blink-182 at the Palladium; Thursday’s second night at the Knitting Factory; the Rosewood Thieves at the Bootleg Theater; Mutemath and As Tall As Lions at Club Nokia; Learning Music at Echo Curio; and Fight From Above at the Viper Room.

Sunday: The Part Time Punks Festival returns for a second year at the Echo and Echoplex. It starts at 3 p.m. and features a good lineup, including: The Raincoats, Section 25,” the Jazz Butcher, Savage Republic, Crystal Stilts, Abe Vigoda, Medium Medium and others. … The Sunny Day Real Estate–Jealous Sound bill comes to the Fonda, and it’s sold out. … Steve Earle and Tom Morello do a third night at the Troubadour, and as of Friday morning it wasn’t sold out. … Also: Parade of Lights and the Airlines at Spaceland; People Under the Stairs at the Key Club; Rosewood Thieves at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa;
