[Bronson is still running around the desert somewhere and probably regretting missing all these very good local shows tonight. We’re gonna try not to miss anything in this list, but please leave a comment if we do:]
Top 5 local shows tonight:
‣ Stew and the Negro Problem (with Candypants) at the Echoplex (Silver Lake originals you should know)
‣ Kristian Hoffman at the M Bar. Ex-Mumps frontman and Ann Magnuson collaborator, and another L.A. original you should know. He has a new album “FOP.”
‣ The Californian, Alpine Decline, Death To Anders at LaBrie’s in Glendale
‣ The Lonely Wild and the Honey Trees at the Bootleg Theater
‣ Marcus Very Ordinary and Daniel Ahearn at the Echo
And some seriously good rock shows elsewhere: White Denim and Devon Williams at Spaceland; Two Door Cinema Club, Funeral Party and Generationals at the Music Box; Ingrid Michaelson at the Troubadour; Elsinore at the Silverlake Lounge; Kaki King, Northstar Session and Yellow Red Sparks at the Hotel Cafe; the Livingstons at the Redwood; the Nikhil Korula Band at the Mint; and Black Taxi at the Viper Room.
