‣ Teen phenom Jake Bugg, the pride of Nottingham, brings his classic rock touch (and the monstrous buzz it’s created) to the Troubadour for a sold-out show. Valerie June opens. That’s Bugg’s “Lightning Bolt,” above.
‣ Great pairing at the El Rey Theatre, where Calexico plays a makeup date for the show that was postponed last October (due to a power outage) and Bahamas, who were splendid in November at the El Rey opening for Milo Greene, supports.
‣ Garage-rockers Criminal Hygiene celebrate the release of their first album “CRMNL HYGNE” at the Satellite, with Emperor X and Froth joining the fray.
‣ Guitar god Eric McFadden continues his residency at the Mint with quite a list of guests – Nels Cline, Mike Watt, Curt Bisquera and Abby Travis.
‣ And with their new album “Fade” out this week, Yo La Tengo visits Fingerprints record store in Long Beach for a cozy show.
