‣ Today’s the day the city of Pasadena gives itself up to music. The annual Make Music Pasadena festival brings the likes of Surfer Blood, Yuna, Tennis, Sylvan Esso, Finish Ticket, the Record Company, Saint Motel, Moses Sumney to various location throughout the Crown City. ‣ The Buzzcocks, the Damned, Nick Waterhouse, Fear, Lords of Altamont, Detroit Cobras, the Skatalites and more play the 11th annual Ink-N-Iron Festival at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. There are three stages of music; get the set times here.
‣ NYC quartet Spirit Animal [check their latest single here] rocks the Satellite on a bill that lincludes locals J Litt and Magic Bronson.
‣ Nashville garage-rocker Pujol takes on the Echo, supported by the Futures League and Adult Books.
‣ The Faint does the second of three nights at the Roxy, with Reptar and Darren Keen opening.
‣ And the legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor kicks off a four-month tour with the first of two evening at the Hollywood Bowl.
