Avante-garde composer Julianna Barwick has resurfaced with a song that certainly lives up to its name in grandeur. The 4-minute ambient track “Inspirit” is the first tease from Barwick’s fourth album (and first since 2016), “Healing Is a Miracle,” out July 10 via Ninja Tune.

Here’s your exercise for the day: Headphones on and eyes closed, stream the track and let your mind’s eye wander. Then watch the video, filmed in Iceland by Joel Kazuo Knoernschild.

The song finds Barwick collaborating with Jónsi of Sigur Rós, whom she met via producer Alex Somers, who worked on her 2013 album “Nepenthe.” “I think he has the best voice in the world,” she says, “and hearing my voice with Jónsi’s is one of the joys of my life.”

Nosaj Thing and Mary Lattimore also collaborate on the album, the title of which is derived from a pretty simple notion: how the human body heals itself. “You cut your hand, it looks pretty bad, and two weeks later it looks like it never happened,” Barwick says. “That’s kind of amazing, you know?”
