Twenty-year-old Finn Matthews has spent 2020 moving up the crowded ranks of fresh-faced artists satiating crushes worldwide by making pillowy pop/R&B.

Matthews, who moved to L.A. from his native New Jersey when he was 16, has been mentored by songwriter-producer Elijah Blake, who has collaborated with the likes of Usher, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna and Rick Ross. Besides the five singles Matthews has released this year, he’s featured on Ross’ September single “Pinned to the Cross.”

“Clouds” is his latest single, boasting what has become Matthews’ signature production (dreamy and spacious) and his cherubic, oozing-with romance vocals. There’s a bouquet of flowers at the end of the “Clouds” video — pretty much all of his songs should come with one.
