Ears Wide Open: Palms Station

Palms Station

Palms Station is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Hillel Tigay, who, once upon the late ’90s, was Dr. Dreidel in the Jewish hip-hop parody outfit M.O.T. (Members of the Tribe).

He went on to become musical director of L.A.’s IKAR congregation and release two albums of modern Jewish liturgical music, “Judeo.”

“Alive,” which appeared on the second “Judeo” album (as well as in Season 1 of the TV program “Manifest”), serves as the cross-over to his secular project. And “I Don’t Know the Way to Your Heart” is the second Palms Station single.

Fans of all the sharp-dressed lads in the 1980s should take note: “I Don’t Know the Way” sounds plucked from the New Romantic era. File with the music of L.A. quartet Dear Boy and stash this one for your next unrequited crush.
