Imaginary Persons, the solo project of Tommy Alexander (Magic Wands, Low Flying Owls), released their debut album, “Spacescapes,” just before the pandemic hit. (It only recently became available on vinyl.)

The project’s desert-baked psychedelia shifts a bit on the droney, mesmerizing new single “Natural Born Killer,” the first from the sophomore album. Maybe it’s because Alexander has traded the desert for Big Bear? Anyway, the album is titled “Born in Time” and will be released (in August) via Bakersfield’s Killer Kern Records. As with the first album, Alexander worked with producer Riley Geare.
