Meditations on Crime, the sweeping musical collaboration and multimedia project spearheaded by Harper Simon, will release an album and an art book on Sept. 23. The three tracks released so far speak to the wildly imaginative music and the talents of the collective’s boldfaced names.
In contrast to last year’s opening day, Friday at Desert Daze went off smoothly, highlighted by the Flaming Lips, Stereolab, Wand, DIIV and two artists from Africa, Mdou Moctar and W.I.T.C.H.
The Flaming Lips and Flying Lotus join Stereolab and Animal Collective as the artists announced for Desert Daze on Oct. 10-13. Passes go on sale Thursday.
Animal Collective joins Stereolab on the lineup for the eighth annual Desert Daze festival this October at Lake Perris.
