1. The Broken Remotes, “Boxer’s Arm”
With every year, a mantra emerges, and in a difficult 2009 mine was “I’ve got one last punch left in me,” from “Boxer’s Arm.” Thanks for that song, and thanks to everybody for reading and listening in.
Avi Buffalo,”What’s In It For?”! * There’s also another omission but my shameless self promoting has its limits *
Er, stay tuned for that one.
ah, yes, still not down to #1 *coffee. now*
This top 40 countdown has all kinds of ear candy in it.
There are so many flavors to choose from.
the suspense. you’re 1-2 on my picks so far.
If Eastern Conference Champions dont make this list…
Ahem. If they don’t, I should be relegated to the Midwest Division.
There it is!
TOP TEN! YEEEAAAHHH!
rhone occupation — nice.
That song has been on every mixtape I’ve made this year.
Nice to see the rest of the list. Well done. Thanks for doing it!
[…] show. Also, our song “Days are Long” is the 25th best on Kevin Bronson’s Buzz Bands LA Playlist 2009 and is currently being played on Indie 103.1 radio! This means we are getting exposure in both the […]
Thanks for all the love!!!
And here’s a song I love that I omitted from the list. Damn.
Downtown/Union, “Wake Up Call From the Nexus of Me and You.” It’s great, look it up.
What…no Ferraby Lionheart? Are you serious? “Dear Corinne” was gorgeous.
Disappointed.
Ferraby’s a Nashville guy now. I heard that his new album was great (and when I saw him live he was wonderful), but I was never sent the record and didn’t hear that track. On it now, thanks.
I’m surprised you didn’t place Edward Sharpe higher considering the year they’ve had. (I know, that’s nit-picky since you did put them in the Top 10.)
solid list. nice to see ECC up there, too. thanks, kevin!
Good to see Season’s on here. Come down and see us some time!
Big, big fan of that #71 song. I mean, huuuuge fan.
Also, go Dodgers.
Also, also- happy holidays, Bronson. You rule.
(new music coming some time in Jan or Feb, btw)
A supremely difficult task and an absolutely amazing list!
Thank you so much for including us, we’re seriously honored.
Love,
The Monthlies.
“bloody hands”
shameless promotion…
7. The Ruby Friedman Orchestra, “Shooting Star” – are you kidding me? i unfortunately had to suffer through her terrible set at silverlake two months ago – unlistenable tripe
Wow, some good old-fashioned hater-ade, by somebody using God’s e-mail address at that. Jason, what is you find so unlistenable? Friedman’s powerful voice? Her ace team of back-up musicians? Her rather diva aesthetic? Her red hair? I’m curious, because I was at the Silverlake Lounge too. So, no, I’m not kidding you.
