With one foot in roots music and the other in noisy indie rock, SoCal trio Francisco the Man takes a huge step on its second EP, “With Friends Like You,” which will be released in May on 12-inch vinyl. The five-song collection’s guitar squalls and big grooves take the band’s garagey psych-folk to a bigger place, where youthful yearning blares across the landscape. There, louder is better.
