Eastern Conference Champions have no record label, no manager, no publicist and no lawyer. But on Wednesday the woefully under-appreciated [well, not everywhere] Los Angeles trio landed one of the 15 songs on the soundtrack to “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” – putting them in the company of the likes of Muse, Metric, the Dead Weather, UNKLE, Beck/Bat for Lashes (a collaboration), Vampire Weekend and the Bravery.

Score one for the underdogs. The compilation is out June 8 (the movie on June 30), and ECC’s contribution, written specifically for the soundtrack, is a titled “A Million Miles an Hour,” which frontman Josh Ostrander [pictured] describes as “a full-on rocker.” The song was submitted through the band’s publisher, Chrysalis Music Group, whom they were toasting on Wednesday night. Said drummer Greg Lyons: “Even after our label deal [ECC parted ways with Suretone two years ago], they stuck with us.”
