[Excuses, excuses: Time constraints prevented me from continuing my semi-regular “Buzzsicle” podcasts last year, but tonight’s kickoff of the Also I Like to Rock series at the Hammer Museum has spurred me back into action – well, that and recruiting somebody to help me compile/produce. Here goes:]
The Buzzsicle, Vol. 7, celebrates this month’s Also I Like to Rock series at the Hammer Museum. On this podcast you’ll find 16 tracks, two apiece by each of the eight artists performing at this year’s sixth annual event, which begins tonight and continues the following three Thursdays.

[…] Photos: Saint Motel and Kitten at Also I Like to Rock WOW . That’s all I can say about the first Also I Like to Rock concert of 2010. Kitten proved that a 15-year-old can be fierce. Singer Chloe Chaidez captured everyone’s attention with a killer voice and a full-contact performance, with both her bandmates and the stage itself. But Saint Motel were the true stars of the show and the handsome four-piece had a mob of fans waiting for them at the merch booth after performing a set of catchy pop rock that had the whole courtyard bouncing with joy. KCRW and the Hammer Museum are presenting this free music series on Thursdays in July and I hope you’ll join us for the next one!
