Ears Wide Open: Warpaint

Warpaint’s vaguely tribal, sublimely smoldering post-rock has mesmerized plenty of fans the past year – especially, it seems, guys who sample the all-female quartet’s wares for the eye candy and walk away under some sort of magical spell. The foursome’s recent set at FYF Fest certified that Warpaint has it down, and everything else is falling into place. Their debut “The Fool” comes out Oct. 25 on Rough Trade, and the band is joining Mercury Prize winners The xx on tour. Here’s your chill pill:

This article is actually laughable. Warpaint is quite possibly one of the worst bands I have EVER seen live, literally one of the worst.
A friend told me to come along with him a while back to check out some bands, we saw some band from New York at a bar just before going to the Warpaint show. Warpaint got blown away, four girls in tight shirts does not = good music.
* Look harder, you’ll find the good music bro.
God, that’s awful
Chase, I understand that everyone has different tastes but did you really think that Warpaint was awful live? They are one of my favorite live acts but even if they weren’t I think i’d have to give them credit for just being, well, good. They are surprisingly talented musicians and their live show trumps their recorded work which is pretty good as well.
I go to see tons of shows. I see really shitty bands. I sometimes see really good bands that i’m not a fan of. Warpaint is a very good band who I am a fan of.
Bro, they’re just not THAT good. They don’t deserve special consideration for being girls? They aren’t good musicians that’s a fact… All I know is I saw them, they sounded very sloppy, and didn’t “perform” the way bands have to to get recognized these days. That being said, I do appreciate your opinion and will continue to scour their site for music that intrigues me.
Ya know?
just to be objective for a second, this song really really rules
